Donna Wahl

Donna Mae (Nickel) Wahl of Caney, KS, age 86, was ushered into heaven by the angels on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at The Journey Home in Dewey, OK. Cremation has taken place with Potts Chapel of Caney, KS.

Family and friends are invited to a “Celebration of Life Party” on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 1-5PM at “The Sandstone Event Center”, 101 N. State St, Caney, KS.
A private “Celebration of Life Party” will be held during the Wahl Family Reunion on Saturday, June 4, 2022 in Colorado.

Donna was born on April 2, 1935 in Fairview, OK to Harry and Lula Nickel. She met Frank C. Wahl of Okeene, OK and they were married on August 16, 1953 and lived in Oklahoma until 1964. They moved to Colorado where they raised their children and ran “Challenge Machine Shop” together until their retirement and moved to Caney in 1993.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Wahl, and her brother, Merwyn Nickel. Family members left to cherish her memory are siblings Bill Nickel and Betty Porter and her children and their spouses; Doug & Zoe Wahl, Sue & John Poulos, Sandi & Rick Graham and Steve & Donna Wahl and their families including 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Donna was an active bowler until age 82, participating in area leagues and Regional and National Championships. She loved crafting, playing cards and dominoes, gardening and most of all her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Donna would like memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org, 800-805-5856, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
