Harold Clifford Walls, 94, of Caney, Kansas passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 in Coffeyville, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 30th at 1:00 pm at the Tyro Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery. Services are entrusted with Potts Chapel of Caney.
Mr. Harold C. Walls was born on September 17, 1923 in Fall River, Kansas. He was the son of Arthur Leroy and Blanche Lucille (Doub) Walls. Harold grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma and graduating from the Enid High School in 1941. In High School he was known for his rope twirling. Following graduation, he moved to California to be a welder before he enlisted in the Army in December of 1942.
On December 25, 1942 he married the love of his life, Wilma L. Gramly. Together, they traveled and lived all over the U.S.A while Harold was serving in the Army Air Core as a glider pilot. In November of 1945 they started their home in rural Caney as farmers.
Harold was an avid bowler and loved to read western books. His favorite authors were Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Wilma, a younger brother, one sister, two sons-in-law's and one great-great grandson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters: Carolyn (Vernon) Barnett of Altamont and Beth Martin of rural Caney, two sons: Clinton (Linda) Walls and Doug (Naomi) Walls both of rural Caney, 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, 2 brother-in-law's and numerous nieces and nephews.
