Otis E. Sanders, age 72, of Caney, Kansas died Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his home in Caney, Kansas.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the First Assembly of God Church in Caney, Kansas.

Otis E. Sanders was born August 21, 1944 in Great Bend, Kansas to Otis E. Sr. and Olga (Radke) Sanders. He grew up in Great Bend and graduated from the Great Bend High School. He was raised by his step father Carlos Oakley and Mother Olga.

On December 30, 1971 Otis married Patsy Harris Falleaf in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Caney, Kansas. Patsy preceded Otis in death in 2015. Otis worked for Funk Manufacturing for over 40 years retiring in 2009.

Survivors include one daughter Amanda Hawthorne of Miami, Oklahoma; five step children Marcus Falleaf of Cyprus, Tx, Teresa Thompson of Copan, Ok, Stephen Falleaf of Ramon, Ok, Stacie Richey of Tyro, Ks and Nancy Vaden of Ochelatta, Ok; 13 grandchildren Melody Dobbyn, Joshua Falleaf, Justin Falleaf, Mallory Nombrano, Candice Halmes, Cassie Goyen, Katelyn Hawthorne, Carolyn Hawthorne, Summer Routhe, Pepper Price, Corporal Derek Vaden, and Judah Hawthorne; and eight great grandchildren. and two nephews Jimmy and Brian Salsman and numerous step nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy, one sister Barbara Salsman and one granddaughter Chelsea Falleaf.
