Caney

Virginia Lee Hollandsworth, 87, of Caney, Kansas, was welcomed into her Heavenly Father’s arms on Friday, November 19th, 2021, surrounded by close family.

Virginia was born October 26th, 1934 in Caney, KS to Emmett and Ernestine (Courtney) Van. Her early childhood was spent in Caney, KS.

She met the love of her life, John Hollandsworth, from Copan, OK. They were married for 64 years from March 15th, 1954 until his death in 2018.

Virginia was a very caring woman, managing the activities of the house, while lovingly raising five children. She dedicated part of her life to take care of patients with Alzheimer’s as a nurse’s aide at Jane Phillips Memorial Hospital and later served as an activities director at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Bartlesville, OK. She attended New Hope Assembly in Dewey, OK, where she made sure to volunteer and create strong bonds and friendships within the community of her church.

Virginia Lee Hollandsworth was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Throughout the years she stood mindful of her kids’ and grandkids’ milestones, making sure to attend every ball game and important event to them. She enjoyed her days gardening, crocheting, and admiring the birds in nature along with her husband, John.

Virginia is survived by one son: Danny Hollandsworth of Ochelata, OK, four daughters: Rita Starr of Tulsa, OK, Lisa and Danny Clopp of Bartlesville, OK, Anita and David Miller of Dewey, OK, Lori and Stephen Kirkpatrick of Bartlesville, OK, sister, Marylyn Burkart of Rock Springs, WY, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
